How much does it cost to rest in Turkey without a tour operator
For many of us, Turkey is not the usual all inclusive for a long time. This is an opportunity to relax, completely plunging into the life and atmosphere of the country. Many of our compatriots rent apartments in Alanya and come as a family for a rest for several weeks or even months.
But if everything is clear with the cost of trips to the hotel, how much money do you need to take with you when you come to rest in an apartment or a villa where food is not provided?
Let's try to calculate the average amount that will be required for a family of 4 people (2 adults and 2 children) so as not to glam, but not to restrain themselves in everything necessary, as well as in simple joys, without which it cannot be said that the rest was a success.
The main part - food
Agree, rest on a starvation is not a rest at all. And if without something else you can do, then without lunch and dinner - absolutely nothing.
Products are best bought at bazaars and local supermarkets such as Bim, Migros, A101, and so on. But in small shops it is unprofitable to do it, and the product is not always fresh.
Going to the market for fruits and vegetables is unlikely to get you more than 100 lire (this is the amount of purchases for the week). And this is if you do not save and buy just enough. Just think, in season, fruits (cherries, strawberries, peaches, watermelons, melons, and so on) cost no more than 5 lire per kilo. This is the situation with eggplants, tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini and other vegetables.
Expensive bananas and such exotic fruits as pitahya will cost more. And, of course, broccoli and garlic, their price can reach 10 liras per kilogram.
Of course, if you buy, for example, strawberries in winter, then its price may be exorbitant. Therefore, if you want cheap fruit, you should pay attention to the seasonal product.
Next to the grocery basket is meat. It costs a little more than we used to buy at home. So a kilo of beef on average will cost 50-60 lire, chicken - 15-20.
Next you need to count the cereals, pasta and potatoes. On them, you are also unlikely to spend more than 50 lire a week.
Well, we lay about 100 lire for tea, coffee, and all kinds of sweets in the form of cookies, chocolate and baklava.
Add to this all sorts of cheeses and sausages - about 100 lire.
Total on average we get about 400 lire per week, and 800 lire for 2 weeks. At today's exchange rate - it is about 150 euros.
A separate item you can register food in the cafe. It is difficult to name a specific amount, because you can eat at 20 lire, and you can at 200. But on average, a check in a decent cafe will be about 50 lire per person without alcoholic beverages. Today it is about 10 euros.
Entertainment and travel
It would be a shame to come to Turkey on your own and spend your vacation according to the program: apartment - beach - apartment - also. Therefore, entertainment and travel should be included in the cost item.
First you need to decide on excursion plans. If you want to see a lot, it is best to rent a car. On average, the price per day will be equal to 20-30 euros. Plus gasoline.
If you plan to travel within the city, then you can completely restrict public transport, which costs about 3 lire. A little more expensive is estimated travel to the neighboring villages - Konakli, Avsallar, Kargicak.
Entrance fees to historical sites are also inexpensive, no more than 20 lire. And in some places, for example, in the ancient city of Syedra, do not need to buy a ticket.
Utility costs and other stuff
You can not lose sight of the cost of the house. For example, when renting an apartment, you will have to pay bills for electricity and water yourself.
It is difficult to name the average amount, because here everything depends on the rest. Someone likes to let the ducks in the bathroom, and maintain a cool microclimate around the clock with the help of electronics. And someone is limited to a short shower and generally sleeps quietly, without using any air conditioners or fans.
Therefore, the water bill can be either 30 - 40 lire or 100. For the light, both 100-150 lire and 300. Of course, this is a month, so these amounts can be safely divided by 2. We averagely name the amount in the region 50 euros.
Household chemicals should also be included in the item of expenditure: washing powder, dishwashing detergent, various sponges, napkins and so on. But this is not such a large amount: it is quite possible to manage 10-20 euros.
Road to the apartment
Do not forget that from the airport to the rented apartments will also have to get on their own.
This can be both group transfer and individual. A seat in a bus from Antalya Airport to Alanya costs about 45 lire per person, which is less than 10 euros. And an individual car will cost about 50-60 euros.
From Gazipasa Airport to Alanya, a group transfer will cost 25 lira per person (about 5 euros) and an individual transfer will cost 20-30 euros.
Other joys
Do not forget that Turkey is also a great shopping experience. And for sure you want to buy something from shoes and textiles. Therefore, we advise you to put some amount into the holiday budget. But each determines its size independently.
Of course, it is worth understanding that the named amounts are only approximate and averaged figures. How much money you spend will depend only on your habits and desires. But a family of four can have a great rest in Alanya, spending only 300-400 euros, excluding the cost of rent and plane tickets.
