How houses are built in Turkey

The eastern character of the country affects the specifics of construction and the technologies used. Due to the great competition between developers, workers are trying to build objects as quickly as possible. Often, tight deadlines have a negative impact on the quality of construction. The state of the country controls the quality of construction and has developed certain technical requirements that must be observed. Let's take a closer look at how houses are built in Turkey.

Features of the structure in accordance with the climate

The influence of climate is reflected in the construction technology of residential buildings:

  • waterproofing and sound insulation. Turkey has high levels of humidity, which leads to mold if there is insufficient ventilation. To avoid this, waterproofing is created during construction;
  • floor covering. Most often, laminate or tiles are laid (in accordance with the purpose and area of the home);
  • walls and windows. Popular materials for building walls include brick and aerated concrete. The windows are installed plastic;
  • heating in winter. In order to retain heat in the rooms, steam heating systems are installed;
  • cooling in summer. For cooling purposes in hot summers, split systems are installed.

Territory of the houses

  • relief. A significant part of the country is located on the Anatolian Peninsula. The ridge of the Pontic Mountains is localized in the northern part, and the massifs that make up the Taurus mountain system are located in the southern part. The mountains are young, the areas around them are characterized by increased seismic activity;
  • priming. The land in Alanya has a moderate content of soil organic matter. This explains the low level of adhesion of rock particles. Taking into account the fact that the rains are frequent and prolonged, there is a high risk of landslides.

In cases of high seismic activity and the likelihood of landslides, government agencies carefully study the site before issuing a building permit. The foundation in most cases is monolithic reinforced concrete, which is poured in order to erect columns and floors. This significantly increases seismic resistance and protects against destruction. The use of brick by builders is permitted during the construction of non-load-bearing walls.

The quality of construction in Alanya and other cities of the country is adequate . Construction activities are regularly monitored by technical supervision authorities. If the technical requirements are not met, the house will not be accepted and will not be put into operation.
