Mostly middle-aged women (over 32) move to Turkey from Russia, many of whom marry natives. Of course, there are also marriage scammers, but even this fact does not frighten many who are desperate to find a partner in their homeland. In second place in popularity among those moving are married couples and retirees.
Turks, as befits Eastern men, have very stern views, they are very jealous. There are cases that husbands do not even allow their women to go shopping. They take marriage seriously, because they believe that both in the family bear responsibility for its preservation. Various types of entertainment outside the home are bad manners. Turks idolize children; ideal conditions are created for them in kindergartens and schools, but many grandparents want to stay with them as long as possible.
What migrants say about moving to Turkey
Many Russians face a language barrier after moving. Unlike Russian, the Turkish language is not as difficult, but learning it and improving your skills can take a certain amount of time (a year or more).
Advantages of living on the Mediterranean coast:
- Vegetables and fruits cost pennies and are freely available all year round. The products are also inexpensive (apples, tomatoes, potatoes in terms of our money - 35 rubles).
- The Turkish people are hospitable and always strive to help, no matter who - a native resident or a tourist. The attitude towards foreigners and Russians is generally positive (especially in tourist cities like Alanya).
- There are no difficulties with work (Russians often open businesses, work in the field of recreation and tourism, in the beauty industry).
- Apartments on average cost about 200 thousand liras (a little more than 2 million rubles), depending on the location.
- The standard of living is quite high. Many note that there is not much of a gap between those who live in abundance and those who can afford only the essentials. The minimum wage is 2,000 liras (more than 21,000 rubles), which is enough for a comfortable living. In offices and serious organizations, employees are given lunch cards, in addition, they are provided with social packages that allow them to play sports, study, receive medical care, educate children, and improve their qualifications at discounts.
Most Russians are delighted with how luxuriously they can live in Turkey without spending a lot of money on it. Many of our compatriots are building multi-storey buildings with swimming pools for amounts that in Moscow, for example, would not even buy a one-room apartment. So, the answer to the question of how Russians live in Turkey can be unequivocal - wonderful!
