How to withdraw cash from any Russian card while in Turkey?
The political situation in the world, which led to the departure of Visa and Mastercard from Russia, has led to the fact that while abroad, it is formally impossible to withdraw money from these cards. However, ingenuity has come to the aid of our citizens more than once and has not abandoned them now. We present to your attention a way to withdraw cash from cards while abroad using the Contact system.
Pros and cons of the Contact system
Advantages:
- “Contact” is a Russian system, it still continues to work.
- Transfers are possible from any card, without being tied to a specific bank.
- Transfers arrive instantly.
- Decent conversion conditions.
- Minimum commissions.
Flaws:
- Limit equal to $5000.
- It’s a relatively complex mobile application that can take a while to figure out.
Please note: before making a transfer through this system, make sure that the operator has offices in the Turkish city where you are located.
Application overview
You can download the application from the application store on Android and IOS. After viewing the welcome window, you will be asked to enter your phone number to register. You can do this completely calmly, there is nothing unusual about it, you can enter both Russian and Turkish numbers. The next step is to enter the PIN code. By going to the “Points” section and selecting the state of interest, you can select Turkey and find a cash collection point that is as close as possible to you. Verification for making transfers is not a prerequisite, but it is not at all difficult to complete.
How to make a transfer
To avoid confusion, let’s immediately clarify one point: the application has sections “Payments” and “Transfers”. If you want to send money to receive cash, then you are interested in the transfers section. The algorithm for further actions looks like this:
- Go to the “Transfers” item and select the “send transfer” sub-item.
- Select a country. In this case - Turkey. Leave the remaining fields blank and tap on the “Continue” button
- Select a currency (dollars and euros are available), indicate the amount and click “Continue” again.
- At this step, you must enter personal data using Latin characters. You should not use the Russian alphabet for input; this will not provide any positive results. We skip the “patronymic” column
- Select the item “Document Type” and indicate “Foreign Passport”, enter the series and number of the document, indicate the citizenship of the sender.
- The next field is the recipient's phone number; filling it out is often a hassle. There is no input mask here, so we provide an example of filling it out. 7-ХХХ- and then the number follows directly. We enter the country and operator code exactly as indicated in the example, that is, with a hyphen.
- First and last name. We indicate them in Latin. Click “Continue”.
- In the next step, you need to specify the details of the card from which money will be debited for the operation. After filling out the data, you will see a specific commission; it may vary depending on which bank you are making the transfer from.
- After you have confirmed the operation with the password from the SMS, data about it will appear on the screen. Be sure to save the numbers from the “Transfer Number” column; they will be required to receive cash. It is possible to send a receipt by email, which is also quite convenient.
- Payment information will be sent via SMS to the phone number specified during the transaction.
The transfer is completed, you can go to the office you selected in advance to collect cash. When receiving a transfer, be prepared to present not only the transfer number, but also an identification document. You can choose the currency in which the money will be issued, but if the chosen exchanger does not have the required currency at its disposal, then it is wiser to turn to another than to agree to conditions that are obviously unfavorable for yourself.
