Non-tourist Türkiye – TOP 7 unique places
Patara Beach
For some completely incomprehensible reason, the tourism industry has bypassed Patara Beach. There were no resorts, no hotels, practically nothing except picturesque nature and the sea coast. In the area there is the village of Gelemish, two kilometers away, where you can only find small private guesthouses where you can have a snack and relax.
This is where turtles come out of the sea and lay their eggs. During this period, entry to some parts of the beach is prohibited. The beach is paid, but the amount is insignificant. The road ends 500 meters from the sea with a parking lot. You need to take foam with you (and, if necessary, tents and sleeping bags) and wander along the path to the sea, and then either along it, getting stuck in the sand, or plunging into the dunes.
Attractions
The main attractions are the beach and the ruins of the ancient city of Patara (Gelemiş, Merkez), protected by UNESCO. You can spend the whole day on the beach itself, so stock up on sandwiches. Entrance to the ancient city costs about € 3. With the card issued there, you have the opportunity to visit the beach 10 times.
On the way back from Patara, you can visit Kaputas Beach (Kalkan) - a bay of extraordinary beauty from the must see category, which is convenient to get to by car. Admission is free, rental of sun loungers and umbrellas costs just over €1.

Not everyone will be lucky enough to see turtles, since during the egg-laying period it is not possible to go to the spit, and during the day they rarely appear on the beach. The only way to watch turtles is by swimming.
